Tuesday, April 3rd
Woke up late again today, around 7:30AM. I’m considering buying a Pavlok, a sort of FitBit-type device that serves an electric shock as an alarm. I’m currently writing this at 12:13AM, should have been in bed an hour ago, but I got caught up in working on the site. Just figured out how to fix a lot of the visual issues that I was having with the platform. Will need to keep working on adhering better to the schedule, while also being massively productive. It all depends on me sticking to the sleep schedule and scheduling my life around the polyphasic sleep schedule, rather than the other way around.
The site: I hadn’t touched the site in some months. I randomly remembered Sherlock Holmes’ “The Science of Deduction” site, and that was enough motivation for me to get back to working on the site, using his as inspiration.
Real Estate Course: Currently 20 hours into the course, roughly 26% complete. Hopefully I’ll be able to get more of this done tomorrow, about up to 6 more hours of work in. This will be though though, as I’m leaving for a small trip from Thursday until Sunday and need to get some tasks out of the way to be able to not have to worry about them while away.
Time management: One of the big issues I’ve been having is starting my workout late in the evening and then having to do my cardio after, resulting into me getting back home anywhere from 10-11PM. I did better today, getting back at around 9PM. However, I am writing this at midnight. I got sucked into the progress I was making on the site and didn’t want to go to sleep and ruin it, though that would’ve probably been the best choice.
Hopefully I’ll adapt to filling out the site along with the other platforms with my -progress and notes so that it’ll become a habit rather than a chore. Like I’ve said before, I have a lot of ideas and work to do, and sometimes it can feel like I’m slowing down to have to document it. However, it is important for me to do so, otherwise the project pretty much doesn’t exist, as it has no proof or documentation for people to look back on.

Woke up late again today, around 7:30AM. Had some mandatory stuff to get done, then ate a breakfast that should have been bigger, worked on the website for about 40 mins, and hten fell asleep until 12:30. This was only supposed to be one of my two minute naps. THis has been a common occurance where I oversleep ny naps by hours. I ordered the Pavlok today, a sort of fitness wearable that delivers an electric shock as an alarm. Should have it sometime Monday.
Overslept my 3rd nap as well. Sleep has taken a lot of my time today. Got 21 miles in on the bike, though only got back at around 11:30, when I’m supposed to be asleep by 11. Writing this bit at 12:30, trying to get a lot of calories in before I crash. Have a trip for a couple days, leaving tomorrow. Hoping to bring some materials along to get some work in on the downtime.

Haven’t posted in a bit. Need to get back into it, fell off a little bit there while I was grinding out the rest of the real estate license.
Haven’t posted in a bit. Need to get back into it, fell off a little bit there while I was grinding out the rest of the real estate license. Just need to take the two tests once I get back to my home state. So I need to start studying for those, but I have a bit more time to dedicate to other interests. This is where I’m not entirely sure what to do next. I have until mid-September free. I’m not sure if I should start working on my business right now or wait until I get back. Starting now would mean leaving it for an unknown amount of time and either pretty much abandoning it for a couple months or somehow getting up to run without much input from me until I get back. If I focus on other endeavors, I have a couple months to dedicate to them and then I can commit 100% of my focus to the business on my return. Or, I could spend the couple months increasing my capital base for real estate on my return.
Still struggling to keep all my systems in place, such as eating for the bulk while also studying hard, sleeping on the schedule, and working out.

Monk Mode – Day 61
Didn’t stick to the sleep schedule today. I did get some work in in terms of setting up productivity systems. I cleaned out my inbox and set up a Notion account to start tracking my daily tasks. Also spent some time organizing my stuff and getting rid of anything that I no longer need and is just a distraction. My goal is to only have stuff I actually use and helps me improve my life. Selling off everything else.
I also got some work done on my CS classes. I think at this point I pretty much have all the unrelated classes for the degree completed. This means that progress from now on will be slower, as I’ll actually be caring about the content and trying to learn it. For reference, I think I bought a month’s subscription to sophia about a week and a half ago and I’m already done with 9 classes and waiting on 1 to be graded.
Hoping that Notion helps me be more consistent in posting on reddit, the site, and on youtube.

Monk Mode – Day 64
Woke up at 3:30AM and worked on editing a video for about 3 hours. Got a decent bit done, but didn’t take my nap at 7:30AM.
100 Pull-ups: Started these at around 7:40. Currently writing this while resting, have 15 left. Doing them in sets of 2-3 and the occasional 4. Elbows definitely sore. Will be taking some collagen supplement later and drinking lots of water to prevent tendonitis.
Had to run an errand after this that ended up taking about 2 hours. Should have learned by now and brought something to do during some of the downtime. I didn’t even use that time to catch up on tracking my macros.
YouTube – spent a large portion on last night, this morning, and this afternoon editing a video. Busted out the actual camera instead of using my phone and actually tried to make it look half-decent. The editing took a long while, as it’s been a while since I used Sony Vegas that in depth. I’m going to be leaning further into investing time into the channel, as I think it could interest a lot of people. It’s at a little under 600 views right now after being out for 3-4 hours. Hoping this one does well since I spent so much time on it.
When I get into a workflow its hard for me to take a break to eat and do other things. Editing locked me in for a couple hours at a time, and I had to put out a lot of little fires once I was finished, such as a lot of the habits on my Notion tracker. It’s definitely helping me remember to do all the little things, I can’t remember the last time I’ve been this consistent.
Computer Science – No new progress on this front, other than some of my assignments getting graded. One did get kicked back though, as a speed-read through the prompt and thought I was looking at a list of topics, when they were actually banned topics. Will have to re-do that one tomorrow. Maybe I can use the microphone function in Word to talk my essay out on paper while doing my pull-ups. That would be extremely time efficient, kind of like Tony Stark working on his suits while doing pull-ups.
Workout – hit chest and then did some abs. Will admit I could have done more for abs. At least I hit them. I’m hoping tomorrow I get through my 6-mile and 100-pull-ups early so that I can spent time on other stuff during the bulk of the day.
-
Monk Mode – Day 65
Slept in until 11:00AM. Pretty annoyed about that.
100-Pull-ups – started these right after having a light breakfast. Its getting slower and slower to complete them all. I’m expecting this to turn around on about day 15 or so. For reference, I’m writing this while resting in between sets and I’m only 47 reps in at an hour. Just need to keep working away at it and getting better at working around time constrains such as these. For example, yesterday I tried to edit during rest periods. I’m going to try to get some smaller tasks done while resting so that half of the time is not wasted, especially since I got up so late.
Computer Science – still working through pre-gaming through Sophia. Wrote two more essays ad submitted them, mostly waiting on stuff to get graded. After I finish up these two classes, I’ll actually have to pay attention to stuff, as I’ll be getting into the real computer science classes. I’m just blazing through gen-eds right now.
Notion – Since it’s been helping me stay consistent, I decided to invest some time into learning how to better use the platform. I made a couple pages, such as one for the project in general, and a list of books I need to get around to reading.
-
Monk Mode – Day 66
Accidentally fell asleep last night around 8PM and slept until about 12, so I just stayed up.
Computer Science – decided calculus is going to be the last class I do from Sophia, and I’ll leave the other degree specific courses to do at WGU. Did some work on this in the afternoon.
Cardio – did a 6 mile that I was supposed to to yesterday. Actually did it pretty fast for some reason, despite it raining lightly.
100 pull-ups – got these done in the early morning. Writing this as I finish them up. Elbows are doing ok, mostly just a bit of soreness in the back.
Ended up falling asleep from 9-2. Annoyed about this. Can’t say I really did anything to prevent it though.
Feel like I wasted a lot of today. Very unsatisfied with the lack of work that I’ve been putting in. Feel like I’m just letting time split by with nothing to show for it.
-
Monk Mode – Day 72
Did some small errands, also woke up late which took up a good third of the day.
100 pull-ups: Took around 1:50 to do all of them. Also forgot to record it in time lapse, so no video again. Took some phone calls during this to save time.
Notion – has been continually helpful in ensuring that I complete as many of the tasks I’d like to hit every day as possible. I tend to forget to do a lot of the little ones if I’m not reminded of them.
Job start date got pushed back two weeks so I have some time to get my guard card before I start. I’ve scheduled to take mine in a week or so, over the course of three days. Then that night, I immediately need to leave for a several day trip. Hoping to work security around my day job, at night and on the weekends. I’m hoping that this will be beneficial to me retiring as soon as possible.
Ab-workout – got a decent one in today. Goal is to keep ramping up the intensity of the workout everyday. Did this one during my weight workout, but want to start doing it after myt cardio sessions.
Weights – Definitely could have put more effort in here. Need to dial everything in.
CPA – Got a couple hours in of studying, probably about three. Need to dial this in as well and use my time management techniques to be able to up this to between 5-8 per day. Want to have all exams passed and out of the way in the next 4-5 months.
-
Monk Mode – Day 73
100 pull-ups: In between sets as I write this. Starting to more and more use the time in between sets for accomplishing smaller, more numerous tasks, rather than trying to accomplish a large task while being routinely interrupted. During this time have taken my vitamins, started packing for a trip over the weekend, cleaned some dishes, set up some software I’d been procrastinating on, and some other similar small tasks.
Computer Science – Trying to finish up here. I have two classes to finish, Calc 1 and English Composition. Aiming to have these done by the end of the weekend.
Time management – My biggest obstacle is still managing sleep. I’m extremely inconsistent in my schedule. Sometimes I’m close to sticking to the prescribed schedule, and other times I completely ignore it because I’m not tired. AS of right now I should have been asleep 31 minutes ago, but I stil have daily tasks to complete and I’m no where near tired.
I’m leaving for a couple days starting tomorrow. This will be a good test of if I’ve gotten better at getting work done despite the circumstances. I’m preparing a list of items to make sure I bring to ensure this compliance.
CPA – got about three hours in. Not as great as I’d hoped for. Will probably put some more hours in after writing this up.
Notion – can’t stress how helpful this platform has been to helping me stay consistent. I always forget the smaller tasks that take seconds to do, but Notion reminds me to do them as I go on it to start checking stuff off. It feels like a game, where I try to collect as many of the checkboxes as possible.

Monk Mode – Day 75
Wake up – disappointed in this, woke up around 10AM. This is because I took off my Pavlok at some point because I found it uncomfortable on my forearm. I’m going to circumvent this by pretty much never taking it off, unless I’m taking a shower (it’s not completely waterproof).
100 Pull-Ups A Day – Today was day 7? I lost track of some days while I was on another trip. I was able to get them done today, in 51 minutes! This was my fastest time yet. It may have been because I wasn’t multitasking while doing them so I was just standing up between sets. I think this probably contributed to this being my fastest run so far.
Cardio – I have a 5 mile scheduled for later today. My knee is bothering me a little bit, so I’ll see if I can do some stretching that’ll hopefully alleviate it. Not sure why else it’s hurting.
Computer Science – I was able to complete the Calculus I course on sophia. I’m just left with one English composition class left and I’ll have completed all of the courses I*’ll need from Sophia to transfer into WGU’s Computer Science program as well as their Cybersecurity Degree as well. I also heard that they’re working on making a CS masters as well, so that might be something I’ll consider doing further down the road.
General Time management – The results of this trip will help me compare my willingness to get wor4k done, no matter the conditions. On an earlier trip, I wasn’t able to complete any of the daily tasks that I’ve been assigning myself with in order to make progress on several different fronts. For example, I didn’t do any running on the last trip, even though I had the gear and time to do so. I’m hoping that on this trip, I stay more consistent with my daily actions and am actually able to return home with a considerable amount of work done.
The general idea of it is to be able to get work done in any conditions. Something that fascinates me is the idea of a man in a cave, training to defeat you (you being you in reality, with access to whatever amenities you might have) with no water, no equipment, no nothing. Despite this, he’s able to put in the pure work and find a way to progress in the least optimal conditions possible. I’m working to be better than both, but able to thrive at the same uninterrupted level in either man’s position.

Monk Mode – Day 76
Writing this on my commute home from the trip i nan attempt to be as productive as possible
Wake-up – Unfortunately couldn’t resist the urge to stay up late working on some stuff and ended up going to sleep at around 1-2AM and woke up at around 11AM. This continues to be my largest roadblock in trying to be as productive as possible.
100 Pull-ups – Actually got these in as soon as I woke up (although this was late). Was able to complete them in around 52 minutes both today and yesterday, which are the two fastest times I have yet to complete them in so far. Like I said yesterday, this may have to do with the fact that I was standing up between sets and not multitasking, so I was more inclined not to waste time.
Cardio – Got a 4 mile run in at an ok pace.
Notion – As useful as always – extremely. Added another item to it to help me stay more dialed in on my diet an intake of calories.
-
Monk Mode – Day 77
Wake up – actually was wearing my Pavlok, but it wasn’t charged so I ended up waking up at around 10AM.
Computer Science – Wrote and submitted the final essay for english composition. Hoping it actually passes so I can be done with Sophia entirely.
100 Pull-ups – bit slower than yesterday, took me 1:11 to finish all 100, but still a lot faster than some of the earlier days.
CPA work – got about 3 hours in today, somewhere around there. Still need to really dial this in if I want to make insane progress on this and get it all done in the next five months. Ideally, I should be working a lot harder than that and getting it done in around 2. I realize that I say this a lot, that I need to dial stuff in, but it really is happening slowly but surely. I now keep all events tracked on a calendar, I use Notion to track all my daily tasks, and I’m slowly getting to the point of developing a lot of these new good systems into thoughtless habits.
Workout – did chest, all pushups workout. Need to improve my pushup numbers. Also hoping that my chest to back muscles even out more and get to a good balance.
Writing the end of this at about 11PM. Need to finish up consuming all my calories, upload to youtube and finish all my daily tasks before I call it a night. Still overall poor time management as I’m supposed to be going to sleep right now.
-
Monk Mode – Day 78
Again woke up late again at 11. Sleep continues to be the biggest hindrance in be being efficient.
100 Pull-ups – think I got these done in about 58 minutes, so about the third fastest time so far. Come a long way from the days a week ago where it would take me almost two hours to complete them all.
Computer Science – final essay got accepted for the last english course, just need to make for certain that I’ve completed all the courses that I need from Sophia before my membership ends.
CPA – definitely could have been more productive here. Pretty much close to no progress on this front.
Meal prep / diet – slowly dialing this in, coming up with a specific meal plan to stick to to shred any excess weight off. Meal prep should also help with time management, in terms of not having to cook more than once or twice a week. Will need to improve my cooking skills, which at the moment are non-existent.
Workouts (weights and abs) – Hit arms, decent workout. Also hit abs, been doing decline sit-ups on my weight bench. Can definitely feel my core getting a lot stronger. The goal is still to work them harder and more intensely with each day. Working up to superhuman core strength.
-
Monk Mode – Day 79
Woke up at 8AM, so not as bad as usual. Have to go to an event today that will take up most of the day. I could’ve prepared a lot better for the day though. Writing this on the train there. I’ll have about 4-5 hours on public transport that I’m hoping that I’ll use efficiently with just my laptop and phone. Really should’ve brought my work briefcase so I could’ve gotten a lot more work done. I usually have my laptop in there as well as materials for studying for the CPA exam as well as some Captains of Crush trainers to get a forearm workout in.
I was able to at least grab a small stack of papers to study with on my way out the door. I’m hoping I use this time on the train to study them and have the material down completely. I should also be able to get my Duolingo done for the day as well. Will add anything else I think of to work on if I think of anything else here.
100 Pull-ups – going to have to do these when I get back home.
Diet – didn’t think to prep anything the night before. Might start gathering stuff for meal prep tonight for the days moving forward, but for now have nothing with me. Will have to grab something to eat when I get there, which I was really trying to avoid since I’m trying to save as much as possible.
Cardio – thankfully I have the day off, since I twisted my ankle somewhat randomly while walking this morning. Hoping its actually not that bad, but it’s too early to tell.

Monk Mode – Day 80
Woke up at 7AM, did some stuff for an hour, and then fell back asleep. Will try to work on adjusting my schedule so that I’m able to have a scheduled sleep schedule that will work when I start work. Might be good to establish that now and have some experience in it before I start working full time.
100 Pull-ups – PR today, used a boxing timer of two minute and one minute rounds. On the two minute mark, I’d do four pullups, and on the one minute, two. I was able to sustain this for about 40 minutes until I broke the pattern to try to speed up. Ended up finishing all 100 in 46 minutes, a 5 minute PR which is huge. I also spent the time in between sets organizing some stuff that had been piling up around my work area. I’m slowly moving towards not only very time efficient, but also extremely organized. When I watch movies like Jason Bourne and The Accountant, I’m always impressed by how methodical and organized they are. They’re always extensively prepared for every scenario, and I’m hoping to get just as if not more organized than how they are portrayed.
CPA – Writing this right after finishing up the pullups, so far I’ve gotten about an hour of CPA study in. My problem is being so bored by the material that I tend to get distracted. A video I watched a while ago talked about surpassing others by simply being bored. It described an experiment in which people were put into a room with a device that would shock them and nothing else. A large amount of the participants chose to willingly shock themselves out of boredom, despite saying earlier that they would pay money to avoid experiencing such a pain. This makes me think what kind of drive I would have should I be locked in a room with only CPA study material.
I chose to pursue a degree in Business Administration – Accounting so that I’d be able to start my own business and understand how everything should work. Although accounting is pretty boring, its an integral piece of it. Pursuing my CPA isn’t something borne out of passion, but simply a way to establish myself as a professional in the field, a way to make some income before real estate takes over, an as a sort of boring cover for doing other much more exciting Bruce Wayne activities.
Diet / meal prep – spent some time today putting together a meal plan to start implementing. Going to upload this journal early as I expect to be busy later cooking and shopping.
-
Monk Mode – Day 81
Wake up – late again today. Going to pull an all-nighter tonight and try to get my sleep schedule back in order. Also going to spend some of that additional time working on a new sleep schedule, as I’ll have to adapt to using a lot less time and still getting all my usual tasks done and more.
Diet / meal prep – finally was able to get to the store and start working on meal prep. I’ll be eating a protein shake in the morning consisting of oats, 100g peanut butter, 2 cups of milk, and a little bit of creamer to give it some taste. I have 3 glass meal prep containers with curry over rice with a side of bread. This is about 730 calories, and will probably eat it twice a day. Meal 3 is pretty much whatever I feel like that fits my macros, and meal 4 is a protein shake of some of the old protein packets I have. They taste disgusting, but I need to use them up and they also have collagen to help with recovery. This was the biggest advance today.
Organization – I can feel myself slowly becoming more methodical, with planned meals and a specific macro profile, using Notion to keep track of everything and stay on top of my various projects, planned sleep schedule, and specific goals to work towards. The only thing I can think that I should implement in is some more shorter term goals. I need to get around to getting my hands on a copy of The 12 Week Year, as it talks extensively about this.
CPA – Did a bit of work on this, could have done a lot more, still a largely lagging area I need to put more effort and focus into. Need to get this done and out of the way as soon as possible.
100 Pull-ups – almost forgot about this one for some reason. PR’d today with all 100 done in 41 minutes. Did the same thing as yesterday with the boxing timer, but instead of doing 2 every one minute and four every 2 minutes, I tried to maintain doing 3 on the one minute mark instead. This meant that I was doing 7 pull-ups every 3 minutes, instead of 6. I started to derail around 30 minutes or so, and just did them as fast as my back would allow. Really glad that I got over the initial peak of times getting longer and longer as soon as possible, as I still have other things to do, and the days it would take almost 2 hours were brutal, especially considering that I still needed to get a run in and do my weights workout.
Workouts – Hit abs pretty hard, still with the goal of upping the intensity everyday. Definitely getting stronger, though I do have to say my abs are very bloated when working them out, as in the bulge out weirdly when engaging them. Hit shoulders pretty hard, added rear delts back in as I had been skipping them out of laziness. Didn’t do cardio as my ankle is still twisted. Hoping to get back into it as soon as possible, though I do have to say its been enjoying to have a break from it. Might see if I can do weighted jump-rope tomorrow instead of running, if my ankle alows it.
-
Monk Mode – Day 82
Didn’t end up pulling an all nighter. Think I’ll do it tonight.
100 Pull-ups – used boxing timer, got them done in 49 minutes. Good on PRs for now going to relax a bit and build up a good base between 40-50 mins before pushing for further PR’s.
Really didn’t get nearly enough work done today. Will have to stay up tonight to make it count. Feel like I’m letting a lot of precious time slip by me. I really need to dial everything in if I want to achieve any of my goals. I have made some good progress, such as setting up meal prep and setting specific calorie goals to hit, logging them in a tracker, but there’s still a lot more progress to be made, and I’m already behind. Keeping it short today in hopes that I can use the extra time to make up for my shortcomings.
